Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between PMAY Urban 1.0 and PMAY Urban 2.0?

PMAY-U 1.0 (2015–2024) targeted 1.18 crore houses with ₹1.5 lakh EWS assistance. PMAY-U 2.0 (2024–2029) targets 1 crore additional houses with enhanced ₹2.5 lakh EWS assistance, revived MIG interest subsidy of ₹1.8 lakh, and ₹2.30 lakh crore total budget.

My family income is ₹12 lakh. Am I eligible for PMAY 2.0?

Yes — you fall in MIG-I (₹6–12 lakh). Under PMAY-U 2.0, MIG households are eligible for interest subsidy up to ₹1.8 lakh on home loans up to ₹25 lakh (CLSS component). Apply through your bank/HFC at the time of taking a home loan. You do not get the direct central assistance — that's EWS/LIG only.
